CHALLENGE RACE

-National Race-
You will qualify through your State Baptist Convention’s Royal Ambassador Race system to enter this race. A maximum of six boys in grades 1-6 will qualify from each convention. This is the ultimate RA Racecar race.

The minimum entry offering for World Hunger is $100 for the National Race. It is recommended that RAs find ways to earn their offering for World Hunger. It would be a great example of “Working with others in sharing Christ”. Participants must present this offering at the weigh in for the race. Any offerings made to World Hunger for church, associational, or state races may accumulate for the total at the National Race. Once participants qualify through their state convention race event, other members of their RA group may help them.

RULES, ETC.
Each state convention will be permitted up to six entrants from grades 1-6. Lads will race against Lads and Crusaders will race Crusaders.
Rules: The following rules will be followed at the National Race event.

1-All cars must be the official Royal Ambassador Racer Cars made by Royal Racers of Sparta, Tennessee. Entrants may choose the plain or deluxe kit. Standard kits with 4 ¼ inch on center axle slots will be used. Only the ¼ inch tapered wheel with the name “Royal Racers” in the wheel and the axles from the kit may be used.

2-The shape of the wheels may not be altered but the “flash” on the rolling edge of the wheel may be removed. Axles may be cleaned and buffed but not altered.

3-Cars may weigh a maximum of 5 ounces. Official weigh in will be on digital scales. Weights must be attached to the car and may not be replaced if they do not stay attached during the race.

4-No additional parts may be attached to the cars. Each car must have the official RA sticker on it. Other stickers and/or stripes will be permitted.

5-Maximum width to be 2 ¾ inches including wheels and axles. Maximum length to be 7 inches (the length of the official kits). The nose of the car may not be cut to fit around the starting post.

6-The race will be run on an official Royal Ambassador Race Track from Make Tracks Company. The track will be of the side rail design. An electronic finish line system will determine the winner.

7-There will be two divisions. Lad for grades 1-3 and Crusader for grades 4-6. The race will be single elimination with the starting grid determined by the drawing of numbered tokens on race day. Each division will race against their peers and a final race between the winning Lad and Crusader car will be also held.

8-First, Second, and Third place trophies will be awarded in both Lad and Crusader divisions. Participation certificates and/or National Race chevrons will be given to all participants.
